_Pitch
The piece is exploring the feedback between the multifaceted complexity of our reality and its
reduced, low pixel representations. It is observing and mirroring the visitors on a deconstructed,
shattered LED screen, which is continuously capturing and analyzing its environment.
_Operating principle
A real time video stream of a webcam is analyzed with a motion detection/frame differencing algorithm and reduced to fit the low resolution of the custom LED-screen setup (480 x 96 pixels).
_Artist Statement
The installation mirrors its sourronding on a fragmented LED sculpture, exploring the feedback loop
between our complex reality and its simplified digital representation. By its real time pixel processing,
it is revealing the limits of machine perception.
